Consultation of supervised archives 

The Soprintendenza Archivistica della Sicilia – Archivio di Stato Palermo facilitates the consultation of supervised archives in the Sicilian region. In particular: 

• It helps researchers by illustrating the supervised archival heritage and the relative access modes. 
• It provides archival access tools (databases, guides, catalogues, lists) available at the Superintendency. 
• It grants permission to consult private archives declared to be of particularly important historical interest. 
• It facilitates consultation through the access modes arranged with the holder. It assists researchers in case of unjustified denied access. 
• It manages the procedures to authorize the consultation of “reserved” records.
