Library

The library is intended for internal use and to support the Institute’s scientific activities. Access is therefore permitted to users who attend the Research Rooms in possession of an admission card. 

It can also be accessed by those who cannot find the desired publications in other libraries by consulting the OPAC of SBN (National Library Service). However, external borrowing is not permitted. 

Online catalogue 

Since March 2019, the library has been carrying out the participatory cataloguing of monographs and periodicals within the National Library Service (SBN), Sicily Regional Pole. The library’s ISIL code is IT-PA0164. 

Consultation Requests 

Requests for library material can be sent by e-mail to saas-sipa.ufficioricerche@cultura.gov.it , indicating author’s surname and first name, title of the work and location. 

Online resources

A selection of publications and brochures on the archival heritage preserved or supervised by the Institute is available in the Biblioteca digitale. 

Ancient Collection

The Institute’s library holds an ancient library collection of bibliological and historical interest. Catalogues for 16th and 17th century editions are available.
